Congratulations, Yasmin! This newsletter came with perfect timing. I’m also going through a bit of a freak out about what could be. So, this is a helpful and consoling reminder that maybe it all just works out in the end. 🙏
thank you!! I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through this, never a good feeling, but yes, I think it does somehow, even though it rarely feels like that in the moment! Hope everything works out smoothly for you soon! xx
I’m new to your work and LOVING your new cookbook. Your salmon with miso & broccolini is in the oven again…for the third time in the past two weeks. 😍🥰
So glad your Visa came through- I can only imagine how stressful that must have been. Thanks so much for giving us an inside look at how you develop recipes for the NYT. So interesting! Sometimes when I don't know what to cook, I go to the NYT Cooking app, and under search put "Yasmin", and all your recipes appear. I LOVED the one-pot meatballs and greens recipe, and just last night made your new Radish, Cucumber, White Bean and Farro Salad. So good! QUESTION- I'm curious, who names the dishes, you or your editor?
Aw Liz that made my day! ❤️ I’m so glad you liked them both! It’s usually a mix. So I also pitch with a title in mind and then I might adjust when I file the recipe, depending on how the development goes. Then my editor might suggest a change too during the editing process. I think I tend to make my titles a bit long too 😂. Any thoughts on the titles? Would love to know your opinion as well! I think, in general, it seems like shorter titles are more appealing to cooks when searching, but it’s hard to know!
Your titles are great. The good thing about a longer title is it gives me more info about the recipe, without having to read through all the ingredients- For example I was intrigued by the Farro salad because you included Radish, Cucumber and White Bean. I suppose the only drawback to a longer title, is when I share a photo on my IG Story and it takes longer to type!
Haha true! And that’s my thinking as well, you get an idea of what’s in there (or main components at least), but maybe others feel overwhelmed by it? Who knows! Xx

Thank you, I’m sure it will. As they say, if it’s not alright, it’s not the end. 😁
oooh I love that!! :)
Thank you for being in this world and improving it with your talent. The way you explain trust and forgiveness helped me tremendously.
thanks mom! :) love you!
